Sedation Dentistry

Dental work is often essential to your child’s mouth and body’s health. But some younger patients are so afraid of the kids dentist office and procedures that their fear prevents them from getting the treatment they need. At Solomon Pediatric Dentistry, we want to help our young dental patients get past their dentist anxiety, which is why we offer sedation dentistry.
Keeping Your Child’s Comfort and Safety in Mind

At Solomon Pediatric Dentistry, our sedation dentistry options are designed to offer fearful child patients a safe, comfortable means of receiving the treatment they need. Using a variety of techniques, we work to help our patients relax before and during their pediatric dental procedures so that they come away feeling more at ease with the notion of in-office oral care.

Laughing gas (Oxygen and Nitrous Oxide) is used to help your child achieve a relaxed state. This is the most popular form of dental sedation used in kids dentistry today. Nitrous oxide/oxygen inhalation is a safe and effective technique to reduce anxiety, gag reflex, and enhances effective communication with the young dental patient during the procedure. Your child will smell a somewhat sweet, pleasant aroma and experience a sense of well-being and relaxation. Your child will remain alert, awake and can talk to our pediatric dental professionals during their treatment. The onset is quick and recovery is rapid. When your child’s dental treatment is complete, the “nitrous” is turned off and oxygen is administered for 5 to 10 minutes to help flush any remaining gas. The effects wear off almost immediately.  Our dentists will evaluate your child if “Laughing Gas” is right them.
At Solomon Pediatric Dentistry, we feel that kids’ dental anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of. Let us help you address and overcome your child’s dentistry fears with our sedation dentistry options. To schedule an appointment or consultation, call our office today. (602) 345-7959
